They were a little skeptical to say the least...! I think more exposure and they'll learn to enjoy the free time and stuff. Most of this time was running around sniffing everything and running back and forth to us like they were saying, "What? What? What is this???" "Yeah, what are we supposed to do with dis stuff?!" Hee hee...We used shelf boards as ramps and bird ladders to climb and a hanging hamper frame to tie ropes on to climb on (they liked that one) and had a low dish with water and peas for 'bobbing for peas' we had heard about. They definitely were suspicious of that. We ended up having to handfeed peas to them, which were a new food for them on top of it all. They're not so sure about the water...yet. We had this all set up on a kitchen island, and had them under supervision. I think rats are a lot like little kids - give 'em an inch, and they'll take a mile, the little rascals! :)
